What Causes Itchy Rash On The Chest And Torso Spreading To Lower Back And Neck?

Hi, I developed an itchy rash about five days ago that began on my chest and torso, then spread to my lower back, followed by my upper back and neck. It is not on my face, although it trails my jaw line. There are a few bumps on my upper thigh close to my torso, but not as densely populated as on my chest. Some look like bumps, while others look like welts, all with a darker purple pinpoint center.

Hi,

The itchy rash may be allergic skin disease... may be contact allergic dermatitis most probably.

Consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment.

I would recommend you to apply mild steroid cream on the lesions twice a day. And take a course of oral steroid in tapering dose for few weeks. Also take antihistaminic like cetirizine 10 mg daily till the itching is relieved. Avoid contact with suspected allergens. Avoid soap bath.

Hope this helps.
