What Causes High Fever In Infants?

my 3 1/2 year old has very high fevers and cough; I took her to dr and even to hospital...they say that it is a virus and it's been going on for 7 days now...they told me to rotate her with tylenol and ibuprofen but I am so frustrated that her fevers are high....

Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic.

If she is active when there is no fever, but is having cough, as you r doctor said it could be viral. But 7th day fever sh7uld not be ignored and i suggest you do CBC, SGOT, SGPT, Blood culture and urine routine and nitrites and start on antibiotics according to your doctor's advice. We can stop antibiotics if the cultures are negative.

Hope my answer was helpful for you. I am happy to help any time. Further clarifications and consultations on Health care magic are welcome. If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer. Wish your kid good health.
