What Causes Fever, Cough And Sore Throat In A 6 Year Old?

I have a 6 year old boy with a cough and a 101 degree fever. he has vomited mostly flem three times tonight and has had a sore throat for a couple days. we gave him ibroprofin and the fever came down but three hours later it was back to 101. he has alot of mucous in his throat and when he coughs he spits up the mucous. he isnt complaining on chills or aches or pains and he just says his throat is sore. he says his stomach is not upset but his fever couch and sore throat wont go away.

Hi..it looks like the baby is having upper respiratory tract infection from your description. You should continue with ibuprofen or paracetamol for fever and decongestant like phenylephrine or pseudoephidrine .also take adequate fluid and food.take rest as you may feel lethargic or uneasy.This symptoms subside in 5 to 7 days. If anytime you feel that the child is having increased breathing or chest in drawing,you should visit your doctor.
