General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted the history about having neck pain for 4 months and pain in the ear for 2 months, there is a swelling in the neck behind the ear.
The most probable causes I can think about are as follows:
Neck muscle spasm may be due to cervical spondilitis.
This involves the nerves causing pain in and around the ear.
The swelling is most probably due to enlarged lymph node or can be a sebaceous cyst.
I would advise you the following:
Consult your Primary Physician first for a proper clinical evaluation so that you can be referred if required to an appropriate consultant.
May need MRI of neck and ear.
Swelling Ultrasound and FNAC if required to know he cause.
All these will give proper diagnosis and thus allow proper management as the problems is persisting for a few months.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, ENT and General Surgeon
