What Causes Cold, Fever And Flu With Milder Symptoms?

I am about midway through a cold, but woke up in the middle of the night feeling feverish, but when I took my temperature it was actually a bit lower than normal. I do have type 2 diabetes and when I checked it this morning, it was a bit higher than usual. Can you tell me what might be causing this, as I also feel like I have the flu with milder symptoms than usual.

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

The fluctuations in body temperature and the cold feeling are quite normal during a viral infection like flu. Anyway, I would also recommend checking for this infection too. Some blood lab tests (complete blood count, PCR, ESR) are necessary too.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
