What Causes Choking Sensation In Throat?

I am experiencing a choking sensation in my throat for 2 days in a row now. I have not eaten anything I am allergic to and I am not under stress. I also do not have heart disease. My grandmother passed away from a thyroid cancer. Would it have anything to do with that? Thanks, Zhanna C

Hello,
Choking sensation in throat just for 2 days could be because of any trauma which i suppose is not there.
You should see if you have reflux disease ie heart burn or belching which is reflux of food contents into the food pipe from stomach which could cause irritation in the throat and such abnormal sensation.
If you have it then take treatment for that.
But if not relieved then you should get an ent consultation done .Thyroid cancer could cause neck swelling if presenting with choking sensation.
