Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Brown discharge may indicate infection. I suggest you to consult your gynecologist for clinical assessment and vaginal discharge culture. If the vaginal discharge is positive for infection then the Mirena may have to be removed and antibiotics can be required.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
