What Can Be Cause For Pus Oozing From Belly Button?
I had surgery a year ago that involved repairing a hernia by my belly button; my belly never looked the same post surgery as pre-surgery, which was not a surprise because that was the location of the surgery...it was not a small incision it was a large incision but I haven't had too many problems since the recovery...some pain here and there but nothing that was consistent. I assumed it was more a result of weakened muscles getting there strength back.
Howver. today I had some pus coming from my belly button, what could be causing that and what do I do about it?
Here pus expulsion from incision suggest some superficial bacterial infection or incisional hernia like cause.....
For that full course of antibiotic taken to clear bacterial infection....
Keep incisional area clean.... Daily dressing might needed if defect large ...like with betardine ointment ..... Try to avoid water contact with wound minimum....
Healthy and balanced diet with more fruits....
I would still prefer to consult surgeon and get your incisional area examined....
Hope my suggestion will help you...
Take care
