Hi,

Progesterone is a hormone that is produced mainly by a woman's ovaries. It is one of the hormones that fluctuate with women's menstrual period. There is less progesterone after menopause. Progesterone is used to prevent pregnancy and act as hormone replacement therapy to treat the menopausal symptoms like hot flashes, fatigue, tender breasts and memory loss.

Side effects of Progesterone are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or constipation, headache, GIT upset, tiredness, muscle pain, joint pain, bone pain, breast tenderness and enlargement, mood swings, irritability, anxiety, runny nose, sneezing, cough, vaginal discharge, urination problems, dizziness, breathing difficulties, weight gain, allergic reactions etc. Some people may take natural progesterone like Crinone, Prometrium or Chaste berry etc as an alternative. But, you should consult your doctor before taking natural or synthetic progesterone.

Take care. Hope I have answered your questions. Let me know if I can assist you.
