What Are The Side Effects Of Stopping Thyroxin?

my husband has had to stop taking thyroxin before haviing radio active iodine therapy....he has been off his meds for 10 days? would there by any side effects yet? his eyes look puffy and he feels tired? is this a result of stopping his meds already? thanks Candy

Hello,

If he is undergone to radio active iodine therapy means he is a hyperthyroidism patient. So probably he is on anti hyperthyroidism drugs. I think not on levothyroxine. So stopping of this drugs may cause palpitations, headache and generalised weakness. Don't worry if above symptoms not improved please consult with your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
