Hi,

Emergency contraceptive pills, also known as 'i-Pills', can have side effects, although they are generally safe and effective when used as directed. Some of the common side effects of i-Pills include:
- Nausea and vomiting
- Abdominal pain and cramps
- Headache
- Breast tenderness and swelling
- Fatigue and dizziness
- Irregular bleeding or spotting between periods
Changes in menstrual cycle length and flow

In your case, you mentioned that you took an I-pill 8 days ago and are experiencing frequent abdominal pain. Your abdominal pain may be related to the I-Pill, although it could also be due to other factors such as ovulation, menstrual cramps, or digestive issues.

It is important to note that i-Pills are intended for emergency use only and should not be used as a regular method of contraception. If you need emergency contraception frequently, you should consider a more reliable and long-term method of birth control.

If your abdominal pain persists or worsens, or if you experience other symptoms such as fever or heavy bleeding, you should seek medical attention promptly. Your healthcare provider can evaluate your symptoms and determine the appropriate course of treatment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
