Unrelenting Cough And Heaviness In Back And Shoulder Blades. Could This Be Pneumonia?

I have been to my doctor she thinks flu have had Keflex but still coughing hot and cold and cold and heavy on back and between shoulder blades. I have a prescription for prednisone but have not filled as she said only if really necessary. Will it help? I'm starting to think could be pneumonia.

hi welcome to HCM
i have read your query
first of all if its flu it will subside by itself and post viral cough will be there for upto 2-3 weeks
secondly regarding use of prednisone your doctor might have prescribed it may be you are having inflammation inyour lungs which might get subsided on taking prednione
if it is pneumonia your cough willbe associated with fever and other constutional symptoms
i hope your q is answered
with warm regards
Dr NSK
