Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to Healthcare Magic. Thanks for your query.

Naltima (Naltrexone), Acamprol (Acamprosate) and Champix (Varenicline) are all anti-craving agents i.e. they reduce the 'craving' or urge to take the drug. It is common to have loss of appetite and a sensation of general ill-feeling after quitting marijuana - and this is likely to be due to the withdrawal effects.

Usually, withdrawal symptoms take about a week to 10 days to subside. In the meantime, I would suggest that he keeps himself adequately hydrated, takes proper rest and keeps eating small quantities at frequent intervals.

Regarding his psychiatric diagnosis, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder are two entirely different conditions and cannot be diagnosed together. So, please discuss about his problem and further treatment options with a psychiatrist.

Wish you all the best.

Welcome to Health Care Magic

Naltima or Naltrexone is a drug that is opioid antagonist. It is used in Opium addiction to prevent relapse. It is also used in Alcohol addiction. Marijuana is cannabis or bhang or weed. Naltrexone is not approved for use in marijuana smoking. Acamprosate is an anti craving drug, mainly used in alcohol and opium addiction. It is also not used in marijuana addiction. Champix or verenicline is used in tobacco smoking. If he is taking marijuana only then as per guidelines and available studies these drugs will not benefit much.
Marijuana or cannabis is an alkaloid drug. It cause immediate euphoria, stimulation. It is not reported to cause physical dependence, it causes psychological dependence.
Regarding part of schizophrenia/ bipolar illness I need more details. You can ask question again with details.
