Taking Levothyroxine For Hypothyroidism. Took Cipro For UTI. Rashes On The Hands, Blood Blisters. Reason?

Hello, I am a 24 y/o female with no medical problems except hypothyroidism. I take levothyroxine and at night have been taking krill oil, vitamin c, 1000 mg, a multivitamin and cranberry pills. I also took cipro a month ago for a uti. On April 15th I was out in the sun and got a nasty rash on my hands and arms, a few days later small blood blisters (I assume petechiae) appeared. Since then the rash has gone away but if I scratch my skin these petechiae appear and stay for a day then go away. I am wondering what is causing these blood blisters?

Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
You are having Hypothyroidism and taking Levothyroxine, I presume your UTI is cured with antibiotic and that was 1 month back.
Rash you describe could be allergy urticaria or some other pathology such as petechiae? or spider angioma .
You should consult your Physician /Endocrinologist to examine your lesion and confirm what are they and treatment depends on cause.
You may need investigations like Complete blood count, including platelet count. serum IgE level, Liver functions, Kidney functions If skin lesions are suspicious then a biopsy may be required.
If there is itching then in the meantime may get relief with anti allergy medicine.
Please take care.
Hope this helps.
Good Luck.
