Taking Qlaira Pills. Getting Periods Regularly. Missed Periods This Month. Pregnant?
Hi, my name is Ninette. I have been on Qlaira for the 3rd month now. I had my periods in the two first months being on the pill although the days were out a bit. Started my 3 pack now on Monday but no period. I have never skipped one day and take them every morning at the same time. Is it possible that I could be pregnant? Or is this just maybe one of the side effects , no period at all? Regards Ninette

General & Family Physician, Dr. Jay Patel's Response
Hi Ninette,
Qlaira is not 100% effective its about 99% effective, their may be a less then 1% chance that you may be pregnant, some times the hormonal changes are related with amount of stress and type if food may also change the metabolism of the drug intake.
Advice- 1) Stop panicking, calm your nerves. 2) Now I would recommend you to wait for 5 more days, do not take any medication. Make sure you use barriers (condoms) for contraception. 3) Their are urine pregnancy test available in the market and I insist you to buy one and test your urine. ( If it says negative first time wait for a 5 days and after then redo the test, if still negative it means you are not pregnant). 4) If no bleeding after 5 days consult your OBGYN.
Hope it helps. Thanks Dr. JAY PATEL.
