Taken Antibiotics For Bacterial Vaginosis. Inform Doctor About Lost Tampon?

I was diagnosed for bacterial vaginosis three days ago, and I was prescribed anti-biotics for it. Today, all of a sudden, I found a lost tampon ... which I assume was the cause of bacterial vaginosis in the first place! Should I go see my family physician about this new discovery or should I wait until I m done my anti-bitoics for BV and see how I m doing then? Thank you!

Hello ma'am.

The lodged and forgotten tampon is quite obviously the cause for the bacterial vaginosis, with this removed the antibiotics will start taking effect and will surely take care of the infection.

You need not visit the doctor again, just make sure you contact your doctor before completing the course of antibiotics so that we do not discontinue the antibiotics before the infection is adequately treated.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
