Dear Doctor, i have developed white patches like on the bottom of the head of the penis. i did circumcision 2.5 years ago. i am now 40 years. i want to know whether it is developed due to continuous sex or anything else. pls reply me with the treatment and the medicine to be applied.
Hello Thanks for your query,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have what is called as Ballanitis Xerotica Obliterance. It is a chronic progressive dermatological condition affecting foreskin and glans.
The cause of the disease is still not found but it is said to be due to Lichen Sclerosus of penis or Infection from "human papilloma virus , spirochetes and atypical mycobacteria"
Unfortunately there are no medications to treat this condition .
One has to keep watch on urinary stream and obstructive urinary symptoms .One may need to get Meatoplasty done to improve urinary stream. Dr.Patil.
