Suggest Treatment For Sore Throat And Fever

Hi! I ve had a sore throat for 3 weeks now. It started w/ fever then turned to total sinus infection. I took antibiotics for 5 days. I was feeling better until I woke up with pink eye and cold symptoms. Now i just have a really bad sorethroat even worse than when this nightmare began 3 weeks ago! Please help. =(

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

It seems that the infection is back again. Maybe the antibiotic therapy was not appropriate (5 days are a short period of time, anyway it depends on the type of antibiotic used). For this reason, I would recommend consulting with an ENT specialist for a physical exam and performing a sinus X-ray study and inflammation tests (complete blood count, PCR, ESR).

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
