Hi,I have recently undergone a CT Scan and the results say that: 1. Small mucosal thickening along the right osteomeatal unit causing its mild narrowing. 2. Patchy mucosal thickening in sphenoid sinus -sinusitis. 3. Mild paradoxial deviation of nasal septuma. I always feel drowsy and my face keeps swelling , Even when i am preventing having any cold product like cool drinks etc. i often have headache and feel uneasy because of the cold. I also have a problem in my right side of the throat , It feels like i always have a sore throat and this is only at the right side of the throat.
I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.
The management for sinusitis consists in enhancing drainage of the sinuses. That is achieved through local therapy with steam inhalation and vasoconstrictors like pseudoephedrine, naphazoline, oxymetazoline etc.
Most cases improve this way, but if they worsen or persist for over 7-10 days, or if having high fever then antibiotics are added as well.
Over the counter painkillers like Ibuprofen can be taken for the headache.
If it is a chronic condition surgical correction of a predisposing factor like the septum deviation (although it says it's only a mild one) might be considered.
I hope to have been of help.
