Suggest Treatment For Inguinal Hernia And Enlarged Nodes In Groin In A Child

My just 7 yr old daughter has had swollen lymph nodes in her bowels for 4 months, our new dr, just said the diagnosed "inguinal hernia" is not a hernia and there are more enlarged lymph nodes in groin. She is otherwise healthy, active girl. An ongoing pain around her belly button is what original brought us to the drs.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello dear

Warm welcome to Healthcaremagic.com
I have evaluated your query for your daughter in details .

* The lymph nodes in bowels are from intestine infection .
* The nodes at groin are in relation with possible infection or injury in the
drainage area as foot or thigh .
* Hernia is totally separate entity with weakness of underlying sheath and
muscle structure .

* The management of lymph nodes are conservative mostly to target the
control of infection with anti biotics and anti inflammatory drugs .
While that of hernia is surgery .

Hope this will help to clear your doubt .
Wishing her fine recovery .

Regards .
