Suggest Treatment For Enlarged Left Lobe Of Throat

Hi Dr. Grief - I have had a right lobe thyroidectomy (2007),I now have an enlarged left lobe with two solid nodules. I choke when I sleep and cough alot - just had a biopsy done and am waiting for results. Since it is pressing on my throat will they remove even if biopsy is benign?

Hi welcome to health care magic....

You are having left lobe thyroid nodule...

The further treatment depend on your report....

Here if compressive symptom more than lobectomy or suitable operation will be needed....

Your serum TSH and free t4 also should be estimated.....

After operation for hypothyroid levothyroxine supplement will be needed..

Advise : otorhinolaryngologist consultation for examination and further work up.....

Take care
