Suggest Treatment For Chronic Constipation

I have regular constipation, I don t have a flash diet due to working hours, limited intake of water due to LBL, and have been taking ibuprofen for some months due to a ankle injury, have been told that these will not cause constipation , im seriously in need of a healthy result as prescription and across the counter pharmacy remedies have not worked, sick of feeling helpless and uncomfortable.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain there seems to be three main causes that seems to be apparent here for constipation in your case like improper dietary habits, less water intake and Ibuprofen..
Ibuprofen can lead to constipation and it can be an apparent side effect of long term intake of Ibuprofen..
Other causes can be lack of physical activity, excess intake of dairy, low intake of fibres, hypothyroidism, irritable bowel syndrome etc..
I would suggest you to consult a Gastroenterologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like Colonoscopy, hormonal assy, barium swallow can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly..
You can be advised to take regular meals with eating atleast every 2 to 3 hours..
You should also take a high fibre diet..
You can be advised to cut sown on tea and coffee as they can further cause dehydration..
You can be advised stool softeners like Docusate, laxatives like Polyethylene glycol, fibre supplements like Laculose or Psyllium and also prescription medicines like Linclotide or Lubiprostone..
Do moderate physical activity and walk after meals..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
