Suggest Treatment For Anxiety And Stress

I am a 27 yr old male currently taking 10mg of lisinopril for BP. I have a high stress managerial position and have started to see more and more symptoms of anxiety. Including an odd symptom of dry heaving before work?? My doctor prescribed zoloft but I am apprehensive towards taking this medication.

Hello thanks for asking from HCM

You are taking Lisinopril for high BP and have complaints of anxiety and restlessness. You have been given zoloft for that.

Zoloft is sertraline and the drug belongs to SSRI group of anti-depressants. The drug help to improve serotonin transmission in brain and result in improvement in anxiety and depression. The drug is a safe drug and it can be used without any fear. As you have been prescribed zoloft so as per my opinion you should take it for improvement of anxiety symptoms.

Beta blockers as propranolol or low dose benzodiazepines like clonazepam can also help in reducing the symptoms of anxiety. Consult a psychiatrist for that.
