Suggest Remedy For Persistent Nettle Rash

My mother in law has been suffering from nettle rash every day for the last 9 months. She has changed EVERYTHING from diet to washing powder to bedding. She has seen a specialist who said that she has a sensitive immune system, but is not allergic to anything. She has also been getting pain in her stomach. It radiates from her sternum to her back. It makes her double over in pain. It is accompanied by a burning pain in her stomach, and a tight feeling in her throat. She has seen many GPs about it. She has been for an uss to see if it's gallstones, which it's not. Everyone keeps ignoring the nettle rash. She keeps having bad reactions to any antihistamine she takes. Please could you advise.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

When she goes outdoors or into the garden, she should be wearing full length sleeve clothes and fully covered trousers or dress. She should avoid brushing against the plant with bare skin. She should wash the affected area with water and antibacterial soap. Applying cold compress or ice packs on the area affected will give relief. She can take antihistamine at bed time for relief.

in case of pain, she can take acetaminophen, after food. For burning pain in the stomach she should get endoscopy done to rule out any developing esophageal or peptic ulcer. Barium swallow X-ray helps to study details on esophagus, stomach and small intestine. Her treatment will depend on the diagnosis made. In the meantime, she can take PPIs, for relief. She should not take spicy, oily food, processed food or packaged food. She should take home made boiled food. She should take adequate water and fluids to stay well hydrated.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
