Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
The levels of
thyroid hormones vary with age and lab. Some doctors may consider 1 to 2 units less to fix the normal level especially when treating thyroid patients compared with normal people. And the symptoms could be due to other possible causes like
anemia, vitamins or protein deficiency and if you are of perimenopausal age group,
hormonal imbalance can also lead to these type of symptoms. So, you better discuss these things with your doctor, get examined and if he suggests go for investigations like
hemoglobin, blood sugar levels, serum
proteins, serum electrolytes, serum calcium, B 12 etc. With this work up the possible cause of your problem can be identified and treatment can be taken accordingly. Estimation of serum FSH should be added if you are in perimenopausal age group.
You may need to start minimal dose of thyroid hormone along with these if your doctor suggests.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
