Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have major depression and have had it for about five years - no antidepressant seems to work and I'm very scared that this disease will never be cured. I have tried hospitalization and had ECT. I am currently on Serzone and find that the suicidial thoughts are returning. Any suggestions?
I think, you have treatment resistant depression. In that case, single antidepressant would not give benefit in your case. You need combination of antidepressant that would help you. I would suggest mirtazapine with venlafaxine. That is very effective combination and in case, you need further help, you can ask.
