Suggest Treatment For Depression

my husband has depression and has been on medication since he was a teenager. he still exhibits symptoms of depression even on medication. yes, the medication has been changed for the better already but he is still depressed. will his depression ever go away?

Yes, with time he would improve. Medication takes time. Usually antidepressant takes two weeks to show response and after that patients get some response. In depression, treatment course is around 6 to 9 months and more. That depends upon severity of symptoms. In case, he would not get improvement with one antidepressant, that mean, he needs combination of antidepressant. Rest, you can discuss with your psychiatrist. In case, you need further help, you can ask.
