Suggest Cure For Bloated Stomach In A Pneumonia And A Heart Patient

My father is 79, he has Congestive Heart Failure and Pneumonia. They sent him home that way. He has been bed ridden for months now. He cannot eat solid food because it goes into his lungs. Now he has a really bad bloated stomach and is partially paralized. On his way to the hospital right now. Any suggestions?

Hello

Dear sorry to hear about your father

patient with congestive heart failure with pneumonia with bedridden are less bowel movements and unable to pass flatus also.

Other possibilities like congestive heart failure patients may develop fluid retention in abdomen due to less heart pumping.

Constipation may lead to abdomen distension . so until examination it is difficult to say what it is.

Please insert nasogastric tube for feeding, give back rest with position change every 45minutes and follow your doctor order.

I think I answered to your question if you have more questions feel free to ask.

Take care
