Small Child, White Scabs On Head, Hair Thinning. Eczema On Scalp Possible?

Hi, my 2 1/2 year old daughter has white scabs on a couple areas of her head and if I pull at them, they will come off along with the hair that is attached. It doesn t seem to bother her at all, but her hair is thinning in those areas. I m a little worried. Can you get eczema on the scalp? She already has it on her feet and legs.

Hello
Thanks for the query
According to your description your daughter is suffering from Seborrhea capitis. It is a condition in which there is inflammation of scalp with increased sebaceous gland activity. What you need to do is to apply baby oil on the scalp at night time and then wash it gently with Ketoconazole( Nizoral shampoo) in the morning. Do it thrice a week for 3 weeks. Also use MOMETASONE lotion(0.01 %)once daily on scalp and legs for 3 weeks.
I hope this answers your query effectively.
In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.
