Small Child, Rashes On Face, Rough Skin, Dark Dry Patches, Rashes On Elbows, Knees. Causes?

This is about a black baby. Soon after birth, he developed rashes on his face. Now at almost 4 months old, his skin is rough and blotchy with light and dark patches and dry and there seems to be an underlying rash on his legs which are dry and rough. The inside of his elbow and knees have a reddish hue. His face is also dry and blotchy with light and dark areas. What could be wrong?

Hi,
Thank you for your query,
This rash may be because of dry skin or atopic dermatitis.
Apply moisturizing lotion to his body twice or thrice daily and for bathing you can apply moisturizing soap.
To retain water after giving bath apply immediately the lotion.
Skin infections should be treated promplt with antibacterial applications.
Consult your Pediatrician for proper diagnosis of the skin condition and to advise you the specific medication.
