Should I Wait Or Undergo An Aspiration For Small Complex Cyst In Ultrasound?

I had an mammogram and ultra sound was told that I have a 2 small complex cyst and an Aspiration and possible biopsy may have to be done. They also told me that I could do a 6 month follow up with another ultrasound. Should I wait that long or should I have the Aspiration done now. I have had a very stressful year, my husband was in a car/train accident and it has been very hard year. Then November of 2012 I had an radioactive idione treatment on my thyroid and I am still dealing with that, alot going on need some answers if you could help. Becky

I am sorry to hear about the hardship you have endured. But I am sure it will all go uphill from here as the worst has passed.

As for the cyst, it is still small and we can wait for a while, but not too long. Complex cysts mostly require excision, so you can wait for a duration of 6 months and see if it really requires surgery or not. But no longer than 6 months as we should notallow much of the normal tissue to be affected.
