Severe Pain In Lower Groin Area Worsened While Passing Wind, Symptoms Of UTI. No Blood In Urine, No Burning Or Difficulty On Urination. Guide

I have been having severe pain in my lower left groin area. In checking the symptoms of bladder/urinary tract infection I have about five of them, but no blood in the urine that I can see, and no burning on urination. Just in case, I am forcing the fluids and there's no problem passing urine! My instincts say it is more my colon that is a problem. I took a stool softener yesterday and one today and passed watery stool twice in very small amounts. It smells vicious. The most severe pain seems to come when I have to pass wind. Any suggestions?

Welcome to HCM.
Go for certain investigations like cbc, urine, stool and also USG abdomen to rule out diagnosis.
This type of pain occurs in urinary stone but you have no urinary symptoms.
So pain might be due to some intestinal origin. It might be due to intestinal infection, indigestion even also occurs after over eating.
You can take antibiotic like oflox/ornidazole.lactobacillus will be helpful.
Take nsaid with dicyclomin to subside pain.
Avoid spicy,oily,junk food.
Take more simple,liquid diet.
Consult your physician for further guidance and medical management.

Hello,

Thanks for posting on HCM,

Well symptoms of UTI that you have excluded are typical of UTI, the absence of which can not justify the absence of UTI. You might still be suffering from an uncomplicated UTI. But in my opinion, I do not think you are suffering from UTI but rather strain from wanting to bare down feces or pain coming from hard stool. Groin pain could also be as a result of inguinal hernia, orchitis etc.
If your pain is really severe with a scale of above 8/10 then i suggest you better see a doctor for clinical evaluation. You might require some analgesia such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen etc and specific treatment will be given with respect to the actual cause.

Hope this helps
