Severe Aching In Right Shoulder. Stent Placed After Angiogram. When Will Pain Subside?

My father went into the hospital yesterday for an angiogram and a stint was placed in one of the three major arteries to the heart. Several hours following the procedure he developed severe aching in his right shoulder and down his arm. His surgeon said it is probably troponin (as I understand it a mild heart attack). When will this pain subside?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Dear Sir
If the procedure was done from arm? (radial artery approach for angioplasty).
If he had any ECG changes with this pain?
I do not understand why troponin will produce a pain??
One possibility is that he had a heart attack after the stenting but you cardiologist is best person to evaluate that. If it was indeed a heart attack, he should get a check angiogram. Else it could be a local issue which would require some medicines only.
I can provide only this much insight with the information provided. Feel free to discuss more.
