Semen Analysis Done, Shows Pus Cells, Presence Of Spermatogenic Cells. What Should Be My Next Step?
Hi Doctor, Below is my semen analysis report VOLUME: 5.0ML COLOR: OPAQUE GREY REACTION: ALKALINE VISCOSITY: NORMAL LIQUEFACTION TIME: WITHIN 30 MINUTES PROGRESSIVE(%): 20% NON PROGRESSIVE(%): 50% NON MOTILE (%): 30% TOTAL COUNT (60-150 MILLIONS/ CC):50.0 MILLIONS/ CC MORPHOLOGY: (NORMAL)………………….65% MORPHOLOGY: (ABNORMAL)………………….35% Pus CELLS:2-4 R.B. Cs:NIL SPERMATOGENIC CELLS:PRESENT Please advise if any medical consultion needed
Look, the semen analysis report indicates the motility of the sperm is within normal limit ( normal is >40% as per WHO 2010).
Total sperm count is within normal limit (normal is > 15millions /ml as per WHO 2010).
Morphology is also within normal limit( as per WHO 2010).
Pus cells are increased mildly.
So, overall, everything is within normal limit except the pus cells. Consult with your treating doctor for clinical correlation and also for prescribing a broad spectrum antibiotic like ciprofloxacin for controlling the infection.
Regards.
