Right Nostril Feels Plugged. Bad Cough And Headache. What To Do?

Inside right nostril feels plugged but when I try to blow it hard it sometimes starts to bleed. I also have a bad cough, went to Doctor and he says my chest is clear. Also have headache, sort of on the whole top of my head. Are these things related? I have had this for over a month and seems to be getting worse. Thank you

Thanks for writing to H.C.M.

I read your query regarding feeling of obstruction in right nostril and headache and bad cough. At times you got blood mixed nasal discharge.

On the basis of your medical history it appears as your right nasal cavity is having some lesion may be- Deviated nasal septum, nasal polyp, Sinusitis with turbinate hypertrophy. It may be confirmed by a thorough examination along with C.T.scan of paranasal sinuses. Once the diagnosis is established it may be plan for treatment.

Till you are waiting for ENT specialist you may take-

(a) Steam inhalation.

(b) Tab cetrizine ( 10 mg ) daily.
