Recurring Hoarseness In Voice, No Improvement With Various Medicines, Advised To Drink Plenty Of Water

hi, my 3 yrs and 4 mons old son have hoarse voice for 2 1/2 mons now.. i had him checked by an eent and he gave my son cefalexin and carbocisteine. his voice was improved for a few days and it went back to being hoarse again. i brought him to his pedia and he said there were no infections whatsoever.. he gave him dequadin lozenges and his voice was again improved for a few days and went back to being hoarse again. the i took him to another doctor and he gave him co-amoxiclauv. he has been taking the medicine for three days now.. his voice was again improved, i just fear he might had a hoarse voice again.. thank you so much. i am joan from philippines. another thing, his pedia said it could only be caused by not drinking so much water because it s summer in our country now.

thank u mrs joan
for sharing ur prob with us on HCM
see ur son is suffering from recurrent hoarseness of voice
hoarseness of voice in this age group most commonly occurs due to laryngitis...laryngotracheobronchitis or croup
i think ur treatment so far is not adequate
is there any fever a/w this hoarceness of voice???
is there any chest problems or ent problems with this????
u need to aware ourselves with these histories
btw ur child need to have some voice rest along with this antibiotic treatment and decogestant 4 2 wks
if even though this hoarseness of voice persists or recurs
then u must have atleast a fibre-optic laryngoscopy done especially to see the movement of the vocal cords, to see any growth is there or not or any associated abnormality
i think with these u ll come to know the exact cause
dont worry
do follow the above mentioned things
hope fir the best
thank u
