Reason For Light Pink Discharge When Having Protected Sex And Using Birth Control
Hi, I am experiencing a light pink discharge, it is the same amount and texture I usually have but normally it is white. I am sexually active, always use a condom, and I've been on birth control for a little under a year. What could have caused the light pink discharge?
According to your history the possible causes of your problem are: - While using birth control pills sometimes can lead to inter-menstrual spotting, which can mix with vaginal discharge and can present as pink discharge. - Local causes like cervical erosion, polyps, friction on vaginal tissue during intercourse can lead to spotting and discharge. Usually this type of discharge will subside soon without the name of any specific treatment.
If the discharge persists, better to get examined. By clinical examination and investigations like pap smear, vaginal swab for culture and sensitivity the possible cause of your problem can be identified and treatment can be taken accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
