But after food is vary from 130 to 155. Now am on novomix 50/50 ,3 unit, optisulin and glycomet 500 mg per day. Is that ok. Will the sugar harm my baby?earlier I miscarried once in 8 weeks. So I am panic now. I am into my 10th week by today. All my pregnancy symptoms are slowing down. I worried . Is this normal. Also I have hypo thyroid. Taking 150 mg of thyroxin daily.

Hello,
Thanks for posting your query on health care magic.
Hypergylycemia in first trimester is injurious for your baby.
I recommend you to get your sugar levels to normal before trying for pregnancy.
This helps in avoiding congenital anomalies in the fetus and repeated miscarriage as well..
Since your pregnancy signs are slowing down, most likely you are going to abort.
I suggest you to get a transvaginal Ultrasound for confirmation.
Hope this helps.
regards,
Dr Nilofer

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.

Strict control of blood sugar levels are required during pregnancy. you need to adjust your insulin dose according to your sugar levels.
Regular monitoring of blood sugar levels is required.
The blood sugar level should be below 95 mg/dl (5.3 mmol/l) on awakening, below 140 mg/dl (7.8 mmol/l) one hour after a meal and below 120 mg/dl (6.7 mmol/l) two hours after a meal.
Each time when checking the blood sugar level, keep a proper record of the results.
Only insulin is recommended for sugar control during pregnancy, not other medication.
Get regular check up of eye and kidney test regularly.
Get your TSH test done, as in pregnancy requirement of thyroxine requirement changes,
Consult your doctor for examination and management.
Hope I answered your question. Feel free to ask me if you have any further queries.
Wish you good health. Take care.

Regards
Dr. Vidya
