Pregnant, Light Spotting When Wiped, Miscarriage History, Closed Cervix, Baby Healthy And Moving

Hi, I am 24 weeks today and had some very very light spotting that only was there when I wipped. My husband took me to the ER because I had a miscarriage last October. I have no pains or anything. My cervix is completely closed, the baby is healthy and moving all over. But what could have caused this?
We haven't had intercourse in over a month. Could it be stress? I am under quite a bit and try to take it as easy as possible. I did do a little more movement yesterday than normal but I don't know if that would cause it.

Hi,
You have not mentioned the exact stage when you aborted last time.
Actually in post abortal pregnancy, a care & treatment is advised till 1 month exceeding the risk zone.
Cocidering your present condition, the bleeding can be due to physical or psychological stress. Please show your previous reports to your doctor,& get a specific advice. Sometimes protective hormonal support to fetus is given. Your doctor will decide the need.
During this pregnancy-
* avoid excessive stress, strain, anxity.
* take nutritious diet with high proteins, calcium, iron, vitamins (milk, fruits, vegetables, salads, sprouts)
* Regular check ups & regular treatment.
* Sound sleep, +ve thinking do help.
Thanks.

you should undergo an ultrasonography.may be placenta is low lying or a marginal separation of placenta which can be detected in ultrasonography.you should avoid heavy work and much movement.according to your ultrasonography report treatment can be started.thanks.

OBGYN Dr. Timothy Raichle's  Response
Hello, I would be happy to help you with your question.

It is not related to stress, but it could be related to the increase in activity. The cervix itself is prone to bleeding and this is not an uncommon complaint. You need to avoid intercourse for now, and you need an ultrasound to measure the cervix and confirm that the placenta is not over the cervix.

I hope that this helps and good luck!
