Pain Below Shoulder Blade, Lower Back Pain. Nervous

Hi, I am a 22 year old female. Two days ago I had a sharp pain right below my right shoulder blade which at first I pushed off due to the back problems I already have but I never have pain in my shoulders only my lower back. I started to worry when every time I took a breath the pain worsened and I was unable to tell if it was chest pain or back pain . Yesterday I did not feel any of these symptoms but this morning I woke up with exactly the same symptoms only the pain feels worse today. I cannot tell if the pain is my right chest or right shoulder blade but I am very nervous because every time I breathe it hurts

Hello,
Thanks for writing to us.

From description , it seems you might developed muscular strain over lower back and chest area.

I would suggest getting this evaluated by an orthopedician for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management. You may get the x-ray/ MRI of the area affected under his/her guidance.

Meanwhile following measures will help with the pain
• Lie on a hard bed.
• Anti -inflammatory drugs like Tablet Motrin 1 tablet as and when required
• Avoid forward bending.
• Avoid strenuous activity & lifting heavy weights.
• Apply diclofenac gel on the affected area. Warm compresses will also help.

Wishing you good health...
Regards.

hello,
you should go for ultrasoun and x ray for confirmation, may be this is just muscular pain but after your test this will be confirmed. if nothing comes in your tests go for muscle relaxant medcine like chlrozoxazone with diclo plus para combination for 4-5 days continuously with antacid twice daily.
