Pain Around Belly Button. History Of Robotic Lapasoscopic Hysterectomy A Month Back. Normal?

Hi, I had a Robotic Laparoscopic Hysterectomy June 14,2013. Everything was removed with the exception of my ovaries. I am still having pain centered around my belly button. Can you please tell me how long I should expect this to continue? It is painful to wear my seatbelt and some clothing. I had my first post-op appointment last week. Thanks.

Hi dear
Welcome to the board of Health care magic

Recently you had undergone some minimal invasive surgery. Naturally some of your tissues like nerves, blood vessels, muscles etc are damaged by the laproscope. Many perepheral nerves are either severed or damaged and these are responsible for the pain sensation.

Dear friend healing of the tissues starts immediately after any sort of damage. It involves lot of new tissues formation. And it is soar till the fibrous tissues who are developed are well formed. Usually it takes around six weeks to settle the things.
Hope this discomfort of yours will gradually wean off. and you will forget after some weeks that you have undergone any trauma.

You can apply some moisturizing cream etc near the wound.

Hope this answer may be useful with your satisfaction.

Take care
