Occasionally Drying, Itchy Red Blotches Spreading On Scrotum. Talc Not Helpful. Eczema?

hi I have two red blotches that have appeared on my scortum...they are very itchy and occasionally dry out...
I have been reducing the itchiness by using talc but the blotches do not seem to be going away.
it could not be an std as I have not had intercourse in a while... My guess would be that it is some kind of eczma which would be strange as I have not experienced eczma before and I am 47 yrs old...
Any ideas pls ?

Hi thanks for writing to health care magic. You may either suffering from fungal infection or eczema.Fungal infections are very common in these areas because of moisture. .They may present as dry itchy scaly lesions and they may spread in surronding areas.Other possibility is of lichen simplex chronicus. It is atype of eczema. It is related to stress.Treatment for both conditions is quite different and exact diagnosis is required .So it will be better you consult a dermatologist and take treatment accordingly.Take care.
