Normal To Get Cold Sweats And Headaches After Stopping Birth Control Pills?

I stopped a birth control pill two weeks ago because of blind migraines with the risk of stroke. I have now had a headache for two weeks and getting Ice cold soaking sweats at night. Should I be concerned or is this normal after stopping birth control?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Prolonged use of contraceptive pills may cause headache. It will resolve spontaneously once you stop the pills. You can take simple analgesics like Paracetamol for headache. If the headache persist for long, then better to consult a physician and get evaluated.

Wishing you good health.

Thanks.
