Lips And Scalp Sunburned, Very Pale. Should I Check It For Cancer ?

My lips and scalp were sunburned this weekend. I'm in my early twenties, I'm very pale, and I was badly sunburned a few times during childhood. Though I usually avoid sun overexposure and wear an organic sunscreen every day, should I see a dermatologist? How concerned should I be about checking for skin cancer at my age?
Also, I wear an organic sunscreen with non-nano zinc oxide as the active ingredient because I've read that other active ingredients can also pose a cancer risk. I used other types of sunscreen for many years during my childhood and adolescence. What could the possible risks or side effects of this be if I've discontinued the use of these other harmful sunscreens, but had longterm exposure to them for many years previous?
Thanks so much for your time and help!

Hi,
Welcome and thanks for posting your query to HealthcareMagic.
As per your query you are very pale and sunburned a few times during childhood. Presently you want to know the possibility of skin cancers in you.
The very first thing to be known to you is that not every person with fair skin is prone to skin cancers. According to recent studies it suggest that only few persons who are genetically prone for defect in skin repair are at risk for the skin cancers.
The second important thing is age factor: In early 20 it is not at all any chance for the skin cancers again. This is commonly seen past middle age (means more than 50 years of age).
You are perfectly alright in using organic sunscreen with non-nano zinc oxide which is totally inert- so good to be used for as long as you want.
Eat a lot fruits containing natural sunscreens which are best for you!!!
I hope these information's will help you. If you have further queries I will be happy to help.
"Wish you good health"
