Large lump in armpit, irregular in shape, no skin discolouration. Causes?

Someone I know has a very large lump in their armpit. It is no where near only marble sized. For comparison maybe a bout the size of a golf ball, maybe a little bigger. It s irregular in shape, but no skin discoloration and it is not painful, just gets irritated when said person moves their arm a lot. They ve had it for about two years. What could it be? The size of it is disconcerting...

Hello and thanks for the query
The lump may be enlarged lymph node, cyst, or a malignant type. If its size is increasing, causing pain and effecting your daily activities than you should be worried and get treatment for this.
Most likely in armpit there is a enlarged lymph nodes caused due to infection. inflammation.
A simple test FNAC can be done to find out the cause of the lump and accordingly decision can be made for removing it by surgery. Consult your surgeon for the investigation and further treatment.
