hi this is very embarrassing but i have a very itchy anuas. i have now got a red rash. i have been constipated i have have had hemroids. i saw my dr she said i have a bacteria. not sexually transmitted. i have been on antibiotics. i think i may have thrush from that. i am not sleeping the itch and burning gets so bad. i have almost gone to hospital a couple of times. what do you think she has taken a swab results back monday afternoon but i think i will go insaine by then
Hi ! Sometimes hemorrhoids go on secreting mucus which after chronically coming into contact with the anal skin may be the cause of itching around the area. Burning could be due to the trauma caused by the scratching with super added bacterial/fungal infection, apart from a possibility of having a fissure in the perianal area due to hard stool of constipation. Taking a swab is ok to know the kind of infection and give appropriate antibiotics to control it, but unless the cause of the chronic irritation is removed, you may be getting this repeatedly. I would suggest you to discuss this matter with your family physician and get referred to a general surgeon for an opinion. Wishing you an early recovery.
