Is There Any Connection Between Low TSH Levels And High Glucose Levels?

In recent blood work, the results indicated that I had a TSH of 0.01, and fasting glucose of 127. Despite these results, I don t have any of the typical symptoms of hyperthyroidism; my symptoms are more like those of hypothyroidism. I m not sure what s going on - my doctor has ordered more labs. I was wondering if there is any causal correlation between my low TSH and high glucose. Any thoughts on what s going on here?

There is no direct relation between thyroid and diabetes. But casual relationship has been noticed in terms like when one endocrine organ is involved other endocrine organs may get involved too. My advice look into your thyroid profile and i am sure your physician would have thought about thyroiditis, thyroid nodule etc. I am of the opinion that you need a detailed evaluation for thyroid. Sugar part can be manged as per the readings. IF this is the first time your sugars are high then please do a GTT (Glucose Tolerance Test) to confirm diagnosis.
