Is Swelling In Arms After Exercise And Weight Lifting Normal?

My arms are swollen after excercise/weights. Sore muscles but not painful. However, the skin is tight from the swelling and in some areas there is slight pitting. Swelling and soreness more in right arm than left and most obvious closer to elbows. I just started working out after months off. Took ibuprofen and no real improvement. Plan to rest for a day or two. Should I be more concerned? Age 35, 5'4'', 130lbs, no significant health hx. Synthroid 100mcg daily
