General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi Sajid. Multiple calculi in gall bladder needs operation to remove the gall bladder with calculi, as there is already inflamed wall with probe tenderness. The possible dangers are - complications of general anesthesia as difficulty in getting out of anesthesia , bleeding during surgery, damage to nearby structures. Now-a-days this surgery is performed by laparoscopy or a small hole surgery. Before surgery i would advice to get all blood tests, Liver function tests, ECG , X-ray chest and opinion of he physician or an anesthetist as to the fitness for anesthesia and surgery. If he turns out to be fit , go ahead with surgery. The complication rates are very very low with the advent of new techniques of surgery and anesthesia.
