Is Sore Throat Generally Associated With Taking Androgel For Low Testosterone Levels?
I began taking Androgel for low testosterone levels about a week ago. I am experiencing sore throat pain. I know that swelling of the throat is listed as a possible severe side effect, but I don t think my throat is swollen, and I don t have difficulty breathing or eating. Is this someting I should be concerned about?
Swelling of the throat due to medication is usually due to an allergic reaction to the particular drug. This would normally be accompanied by other symptoms and signs of allergies such as red, itchy rash, swelling in the skin
It is likely that the sore throat is not related to the medication and may be due to one of the following : (1)acute viral infection such as the common cold (2)post nasal drip which occurs in sinusitis (3)trauma (4)gastroesophageal reflux disease
I hope this helps
